Driving Licence
You should bring your driving licence to your lesson to show your instructor at the start of your first driving lesson. It is advisable to carry your driving licence during all driving lessons.
Fitness to Drive
You should be fit to drive in terms of any legal and medical requirements. Please advise your instructor of any medication, medical problems or restrictions on your licence that may affect your ability to drive.
Less Stress Driving reserves the right to cancel a driving lesson if the instructor suspects the driver is unfit to drive due to alcohol or drug use. The lesson will be chargeable.
Payments & Cancellations
Payments for driving lessons are to be made at the start of the lesson. If bank transfer is agreed, payment should be made prior to the lesson or within 24 hours after the start of the lesson.
Less Stress Driving reserves the right to change the payment method to cash if this is not adhered to.
Block bookings cannot be transferred to another person and should be used within six months of payment unless otherwise agreed.
If you need to cancel a driving lesson, a minimum of 48 hours' notice is required. Failure to provide 48 hours' notice will require the lesson to be paid for in full.
Practical Test
On the day of your practical test, I will pick you up 1 hour before the test for a driving lesson. There will also be a charge for 1 hour's use of the car during the driving test.
Driving Lessons
Driving lessons will start and finish at a pre-arranged location agreed between us. Please give notice if you want the pick-up or drop-off location changed so I can make sure I can accommodate this.
Under normal circumstances I will try to start and finish lessons on time. I may run late due to traffic, weather or other circumstances. If this happens, I will add the time to the end of your lesson where possible. If this cannot be done, we will arrange a mutually agreed time for you to receive the time back.
If I am unable to attend your lesson, we will arrange another mutually agreeable time. If you do not wish to reschedule a pre-booked lesson, it will not be charged. If you have paid by bank transfer, the payment can be returned or used for the next lesson if agreed.
All lessons will comply with the Highway Code and UK law. Any penalties arising from a pupil's driving are the pupil's responsibility.
If a lesson is recorded, Less Stress Driving reserves the right to use the recording for evidence or marketing, subject to applicable law and permissions.
Tuition Vehicle
Less Stress Driving provides a tuition vehicle that is fully insured for driving instruction purposes. The vehicle is maintained, taxed and fitted with dual controls and forward/rear cameras.
Driving Test Booking
Less Stress Driving reserves the right to refuse use of the tuition vehicle for a driving test if the instructor believes the pupil represents a danger to the public.
The tuition vehicle will be maintained in a roadworthy condition and meet legal requirements for the practical test. Less Stress Driving cannot be held responsible for vehicle failure during a test or consequential loss.
Less Stress Driving is not responsible for DVSA test cancellations caused by examiner sickness, bad weather, staff shortages, strike action or other events beyond its control.
Instructor Code of Practice
Less Stress Driving agrees to abide by the professional code of conduct. In the unlikely event of a complaint or dispute, the relevant guidelines will be followed.
Your Rights
These conditions do not affect any protection a pupil has under applicable consumer legislation.
Less Stress Driving reserves the right to change or alter these terms and conditions and will endeavour to inform pupils of changes as soon as reasonably possible.
